Energy & e-mobility

The difference between an installation and an energy management system is whether someone decides automatically - or just watches.

Modbus/SunSpec · Day-Ahead

What is technically different in this industry

Time is the decisive dimension. Energy is a time series problem. What counts is not the instantaneous value but the trajectory - and the forecast. The emphasis is therefore on time series databases, forecasting models and the clean handling of gaps and outliers.

Market data belongs in the control logic. Day-ahead prices from European bidding zones and grid CO₂ intensity are not display values but inputs to the optimisation.

Device variety without standardisation. Modbus and SunSpec cover part of it, the rest runs via vendor-specific interfaces. That is why device connectivity sits in its own processing stage here - a new device class does not touch the analysis.

Intervention in physical installations. Anyone automating charge and discharge decisions must be able to explain them afterwards. Observability here is part of the safety argument, not an operational extra.

What we have done here

EcoPulse is the most detailed account: a distributed platform for real-time monitoring, analysis and control of energy and charging infrastructure. Alongside it, AI-assisted energy management systems based on Victron, Deye and Node-RED with MQTT and OPC UA integration and X.509-based authentication.

Frequently asked questions

Does this pay off for a mid-sized business?

That can only be answered against your load data. We therefore usually start with an analysis of existing measurements - that shows whether peak shaving, self-consumption optimisation or load shifting offers the larger lever.

Do you work with specific manufacturers?

We have hands-on experience with Victron and Deye among others. The architecture is deliberately vendor-neutral, though: connectivity sits in its own stage.
