What is technically different in this industry
Data volumes from the vehicle bus. CAN, FlexRay and automotive Ethernet produce very large, densely timed data volumes during measurement. Analysis tools have to cope without delaying the measurement.
Tools with long histories. Analysis and simulation tools have grown over years, often in C++. Modernisation here almost always means stepwise replacement during operation, not a rebuild.
Process maturity as a requirement. Collaboration runs through established toolchains - Jenkins, SonarQube, Jira, Confluence - and their rules apply to external participants too.
Teams rather than individual seats. Often this is less about additional development capacity than about technical leadership: architecture modernisation, agile transition, training the existing crew.
What we have done here
For a German premium car manufacturer we supported - via a partner company - the central platform for analysing vehicle bus data: project leadership, architecture modernisation, agile transition and training for the development teams. Alongside it, the further development of a residual bus simulation application with a modernised user interface, unit tests and localisation.
